Gas prices remain above the $4.00 mark in the US and continue to rise.

The national average price for a gallon of regular gas continues to climb, remaining above the $4.00 mark. According to the latest data gathered from AAA, the price now sits at $4.151, up from $4.022 a month ago. The average was around $3.782 in mid-July and $3.200 one year ago. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East continues to affect gas prices. However, the average fails to reflect the significant price variation across states.
